Shouldn’t We Know ‘Exactly’ What Are Kids Are Eating?

BLACK + BLUM BENTO BOX

Well gone are the days of worrying if Turkey Twizzlers were being served at school, we now need to worry if horsemeat is amongst the casserole, shepherds pie, ‘meat’ pie or lasagne!

I think ‘hidden’ ingredients are inexcusable and I’d be mortified if I found out I’d eaten horse.
Thank goodness I never eat packet food (no Lindus lasagne for me) and I try to eat organic meat and buy from the butchers. However, we’ve all had that one rushed day where we rush into the nearest supermarket and grab a packet of mince or burgers so can we ever be sure that we have never eaten a ‘hidden’ ingredient like horse???

Our child’s school has reports to show the meat is ‘horse free’ but I know many mothers who have decided to do pack lunch.

This no longer needs to be a sandwich everyday because it’s the easiest thing to pack. You can now find boxes that have compartments, keep food warm, fresh and delicious all day! This means you can make an extra portion of dinner and it’ll still be great for lunch the next day. Bento lunch boxes or pots give you the easy way to send your child to school with meat, chicken, or fish in one section, vegetables and/rice/potatoes in another. They’re amazing. I also use the Bobble water bottles to make sure she’s drinking filtered water throughout the day. The kids love these brightly coloured portable water bottles (they do adult size too) so look at www.ecohip.co.uk
For a good selection.

I love all these products for school trips, days at camp and even long journeys in the car too. Pack lunch no longer seems such a chore but a great healthy alternative.

  6. I’m going to start a serious blog that will eventually hold a great deal of content. I am a graphic designer, and my husband does my web programming, so this is for reals (haha, yes I just said that). That being said, I’ve already started collecting my content and writing entries, but just how much content should a brand new blog have when you “unveil” it to the world (ideally)?. . Thanks :).
